Q. Are you insured?
I do things properly, so as well as my gear being insured I have public liability and professional indemnity insurance.
Q. Can we meet up before the wedding?
Of course! we can meet for a coffee, or any other type of drink! You could also book a pre wedding shoot where you can see how much fun is to be had being in front of my camera,
Q. How long does it take for us to see our photos?
Normally between 2-4 weeks, but at the busy periods it can take up to 6 weeks for weddings, Next day for most events.
Q. Can you photoshop me, make me took thin like on magazine covers?
I'm not a massive fan of photoshop, and my style is more about capturing the moment.. my processing is more about getting the right colour and feel to the image. I do sometimes go into photoshop to remove an item if is distracting in the background. If you require a more detailed re-touch, this can be done via a dedicated re-toucher at £30 per image
Q. Do we pay a deposit?
For weddings, yes. When you sign and return the booking form. My details are on there for a bank transfer for £250.
Q. When do we pay the final balance?
Anytime in the week before your big day.
Q. Will you visit the venue before the wedding?
Not normally, there's really no need to. I'll always arrive a bit early on the day to have a look around to scout out some lovely backdrops for portraits etc. If you really want me to have a look around with you, we could always do a pre wedding shoot there.
Q. Do we have to have a pre wedding shoot?
Not at all. But! it really is a nice ice breaker, and you get some great images at the end of it.
Q. How far do you travel?
I have a car and a passport, i'll literally go anywhere! All prices are quoted for anywhere in the Midlands. If its further afield then a reasonable fee will be added to cover extra fuel or hotels etc.
Q. What time do you arrive in the morning?
I can arrive to capture you getting ready, normally 2 hours before the ceremony is fine.
Q. Do you need feeding during the day?
I never insist on it, but i do work better when i'm not hungry! I don't have to eat with you guys, a snack at the bar would be fine, also it gives me a chance to backup memory cards and charge batteries. If you can't provide any food, do let me know, i'll either bring a pack up or find somewhere locally to grab a meal.
Q. What happens to my wedding photos/files?
When you receive the photos they are yours, keep them safe in a few locations, print them, make an album, put them on facebook etc... I keep a copy of them for at least 12 months on my backup hard drive.
Q. My friend with a digital camera says i should get the raw files, do you give these out?
Nope! Raw files are exactly that, raw. They are what the camera captured and have had no processing done to them, they are a digital negative. Most computers can view these files, and they look less than impressive. You need dedicated and often expensive software to read and edit them. They are also massive in size. All of your photos will be in the popular jpeg format, high resolution of course.
