I understand not everyone likes having their photo taken.
You want to feel at ease and get a picture that feels like you.
That’s what I’m here for.
I love taking portraits. I get a real kick out of bringing a person to life through an image, documenting the features that make them who they are.
Working with me
Before the session, we’ll have a chat about how you want the photos to look and where you’re going to use them. Once we have an idea to work with, I can make suggestions about different backgrounds, lighting and overall style.

I often get the question, “Whats the difference between a headshot and a portrait?
The main difference between a portrait and a headshot, is that a headshot is a picture of a person's face. Its purpose is to identify someone, to see what their face looks like. A headshot is a professional representation of the subject for the desired use of the photograph, LinkedIn, social media, about us pages etc.
A portrait on the other hand is something much more personal. A portrait is a likeness of a person to identify them, but it also tells you something about the person - or the personality of the person in the picture. It's an artistic representation of the person.
The lighting is quite different, headshots benefit from softer lighting that doesn’t create harsh shadows on the face or make prominent features stand out. With portraits you can afford to be slightly more creative, dramatic and allow more contrast.
If you are in business then having an excellent headshot is a must. There are so many people competing for business and jobs that getting noticed and standing out from the crowd is essential. Whether it is on your website or social media profiles, a professional headshot will help get you noticed.
We often judge and make assumptions about people in a split second. So the way you look and the way you dress is important.
For your photo shoot it’s nice to have several changes of tops. Simple plain clothing with different necklines and colours, including white and black, work best. This puts the emphasis on you as a person and gives a stronger visual impression.
To look professional, men should wear a jacket, shirt and tie. The tie can be removed for a more casual look. A blouse with a jacket looks more professional on women. The jacket can be removed for a softer more casual look. I also recommend having some shots in casual clothing to get a variety of images for different purposes. I have several different colour backgrounds to compliment your outfit.
